Hello everybody, hello Mr Manley

I'm interested by tube compressor since many times, and I already made some research on internet about altec , fairchild and that kind of very big tube compressor. However, I have not lots of knowledges in electronic ( just enough to built my SSL compressor or that kind of stuff, but without understand really all the circuits ).
I just would like to know if it could be possible to conceive, or to adapt , a little tube compressor ( not a big vari µ one ), with a simple electronic design ( that mean maybe tube drived by voltage not to high ), not expensive ( like some hundred of euros ), just a little real tube compressor, not a VCA comp with tube to color the sound , like we can find everywhere today.
Maybe lots of people could be interessted by that kind of project, sound engineers, musicians, or just people like us ( student for example .. and it could be a nice study project ).

I don't know if that kind of project could be realistic ( maybe if it could be possible lots of company already made it ? ) , but could you tell us about complexity , price and performance of that kind of stuff ?

thank a lot for all, and lots of respect
